Περίληψη:MA Abstract : The first part of the thesis is based on the structure of a paper by Professor Augustos Bagionas, enriched with the views of other scholars. The second part presents some interpretations that help a more clear understanding of the perplexing theory of the philosopher. Concerning the issue of slavery, Aristotle distinguishes between mental properties and skills. As regards the position of women in Aristotelian political thought, the conclusion we can easily draw is that the philosopher does not give special significance to the issue. Although he does not consider that women are in the same position with slaves, he accuses them of weakness in their way of thinking and in the control of their emotions. However, it is a fact that Aristotle's views on these issues have been highly criticized in our times, especially under the light of a humanitarian approach to life.
