Περίληψη:MA Abstract : The present thesis aims at analyzing motion, first through Aristotle's work, but also through studies on the work of the philosopher, dealing with the specific issue; the thesis will finally discuss the relation of Aristotle's theory to contemporary scientific thought. As we can understand from this study, the concept of motion is of particular importance for Aristotle, who deals with it in a number of his works, but more extensively in his Physics. The conclusion we can easily reach is that the subject of natural philosophy in Aristotle comprises all things that are in movement, undergoing a change of quality, quantity or location, as well as those things that undergo changes of essence, that is, things that are born or die. Aristotle, therefore, recognizes four types of motion concerning change, essence, quality and location.
